As we all know, Iraq is in a state of “rebuilding”. So what will help the war torn country get up to the speed with the rest of the world? Social technology of course! Last week the 47-year-old virgin Susan Boyle stunned the world with her powerful performance of “I Dreamed a Dream”, this week’s singing sensation is Shaheen Jafargholi, a 12-year-old Welsh boy, who managed to garner praise from Simon Cowell for “Who’s loving You”. While Shaheen is adorable and undoubtedly talented, we can’t help but still love Susan Boyle. Who’s your favorite? And here’s another puzzling question, how come American Idol isn’t this amazing?
Just last week, a young girl ended up dead after meeting someone who answered her Craigslist ad. Julissa Brisman, a 22-year-old student, was offering her massages, but one of her clients had something else in mind. The Ne Yorker traveled to Boston here she met her end in a hotel. Our hearts go out to her and her family. Julissa wasn’t the only woman who got hurt by another Craigslist user, two other ladies were robbed in New Englad after meeting a man who requested their massage services. More often than not we hear shady stories about Craigslist user meeting each other. Wouldn’t it be easier and SAFER to see these people before meeting them? IntheGlo is going to help this process become safer. Though no one can ever prevent the crazies out there, we can at least can take one more step to ensure the safety of our users. If you don’t like the looks of someone, don’t go. Your gut is always right!
I will be the first person to admit that America Idol and any of those shows bore me to death. Sure they gave us Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Leona Lewis and Clay Aiken, but I have never had any interest in watching until….Susan Boyle. When I saw a clip of her performing on Britain’s Got Talent, I literally almost shed a tear. Never have I seen a more moving performance on one of these shows. And ok, maybe Susan Boyle can’t be turned into the next pop-tart, but the Brit really does have talent. Simon Cowell agrees! I adore Susan Boyle! If I lived in the UK, I would watch the show just for her. Wouldn’t you?
